Joy Sisters

The Joy Sisters ladies group met after service in April. A successful benefit for the church was reviewed. And baby showers have been held and planned for the future ( God has blessed Shady Grove with babies in 09 & 10 ! ) Plans were being made for future projects. The next meeting will be in July. Progress is being made on different fund raisers for the coming year. Always remember -  Bring a friend and share the joy.

The Joy Sisters is our ladies group who meet the second Sunday of each month in the fellowship hall. It is a lunch meeting just after service. You are invited to join this group as they continue to be a blessing to the church and community.

Please submit recipes for the church cookbook as soon as possible. These can be your own or a favorite in memory or honor of a loved one.

Youth

The  youth met on June 6 th in the fellowship hall at 6:00 pm. Plans we finalized on the upcoming Bible School - Sea Quest in July. Plans were reviewed of the success of the BBQ & silent auction on April 24 th. Next meeting regular meeting in August.  Remember to bring a friend. Remember to share Jesus. 

Youth and church wide project to get new activity equipment for the playground is underway. If you would like to donate to this project send your contribution marked for playground to the church address.

The youth meet the first Sunday of each month in the fellowship hall at 6:00pm. They have snacks or meals at these meetings and just finished up with the " Share Jesus " program. Plans will be underway soon for their Christmas project. Youth and young adults are invited to attend and be apart of the fellowship.

Old Timers Day / Homecoming

October 11, 2009

We had a great time for Old Timers Day and Homecoming. Many came in period apparel and we had dinner in the fellowship hall. We look forward to OTDH in 2010.

COCKMAN FAMILY

We welcomed the Cockman Family to Shady Grove for the 11:00 am service on October 19. This gifted family of bluegrass gospel muscians ministered to us in our morning service. What a blessing and inspiration they were ! We hope to have them back at Shady Grove.

Revival

Revival started Sunday evening September 27 thru October 2. Rev. Scott Walker from Tyson's Creek Baptisit Church near Bear Creek, NC and Evg. Greg Lentz from Salisbury, NC in addition to Pastor Jeff Freeman delivered the messages from God's Word. Special singing each night was by Jim Weaver, Gail Britt, The Loflin's and the S G Choir. Be much in prayer for the seeds that was planted.

Angelina McKeithen & Route 77

Shady Grove was blessed to have the talented Angelina McKeithen on March 1st for the 11:00 am service. Angelina is a multi gifted individual playing 7 instruments as well as gifted with vocals. Her father was with her from the McKeithens. What a blessing they both were singing & playing the old time hymns of the church. We look forward to having them back soon.
